On behalf of our client, a technically focused engineering and manufacturing business based in Hertfordshire, we are recruiting a Project Assistant to support live projects and operations, with a clear and structured pathway into Project Management.
This is a development-focused role, aimed at individuals with experience around technical products, a strong engineering / lean mindset, and the ambition to progress into a Junior Project Manager position within 18-24 months.
The Role
4. 75% project support / 25% warehouse & manufacturing support
5. Supporting Project Managers across technically complex projects
6. Coordinating equipment deliveries and raising orders on internal systems
7. Managing invoicing, variations, and subcontractor bookings
8. Arranging internal handovers and project meetings (agenda & minutes)
9. Supporting RAMS, health & safety documentation, and O&M packs
10. Handling client queries and customer service emails
11. Reviewing and improving processes, procedures, and documentation
Operational / Warehouse Support
12. Receiving, labelling, moving, and storing deliveries
13. Occasional lifting, pallet movement, and warehouse organisation
14. (Candidates must be comfortable with a hands-on, physical element)
Candidate Profile
15. Experience working with technical or engineering-led products
16. Strong engineering or lean mindset
17. Full right to work without the need for sponsorship
18. Highly organised with excellent time management
19. PM-style thinking: ownership, coordination, accountability
20. Strong admin, IT, and numerical skills
21. Confident communicator and team player
22. Electrical exposure or FLT/telehandler licence beneficial but not essential
Salary, Benefits & Progression
23. £35,000 basic salary
24. Mobile phone costs covered
25. Company-provided lunch for all office-based employees
26. Hours: 07:30-17:00 (flexible to suit the candidate)
27. Holiday: 22 days plus Bank Holidays
28. Increasing by 1 day per year of service (up to a maximum of 25days)
Career Path
29. Progression to Junior Project Manager within approximately 18 months
30. Salary progression to £50-55k, rising to £65k+ with experience
This is an excellent opportunity for someone technically minded who wants a long-term career in Project Management rather than a static support role.
