About the job :

Kent is looking for a Graduate Safety Engineer to be based in Glasgow.

As part of a leading consultancy you will successfully support delivery of safety commissions with influence in the Energy sector. You will be supporting client projects and their ongoing operations within the Oil & Gas industry and increasingly associated energy transition and the Renewables industry.

Foremost amongst your attributes will be your ability to support a range of projects your passion to develop your own technical expertise (as well as your career) and to be a great communicator in order to develop and build relationships with clients as well as colleagues within the wider Kent business.

Hybrid Working

Skills & Responsibilities :

You will contribute to projects across three of our Engineering and Consultancy Services markets (Oil and Gas Offshore Wind and Low Carbon) with responsibilities including :

* Technical input for project delivery. Technical excellence is key to our success and you would help build on this tradition.
* Conducting technical safety studies (such as consequence analysis Quantitative Risk Assessments Formal Safety Assessments Safety Case / Control Of Major Accident Hazard (COMAH)) reports for major hazard industries.
* Consequence modelling using softwares such as PHAST.
* Technical report authorship.
* Participation in HAZIDs HAZOPS LOPAs and other risk assessment workshops.
* Project management to ensure studies and projects are delivered in compliance with agreed scopes budgets and schedules.
* Contributing to proposals and tenders.
* Direct engagement with clients and developing strong relationships with existing and future clients.
* Participation in innovation projects to continually streamline our toolkits for improvement in our deliverables.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein the employee may be required to perform other ad‑hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employees skills capabilities and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employees current workload and with respect to their professional development.


Yourknowledge / skillseducationandexperience :

* Masters degree in Chemical Engineering is preferred. Alternative Engineering or Science degrees will be considered if a Postgraduate Course in Safety has been completed.


Communication :

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with others in the team as well as clients.
* Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication

* High level of MS Office skills including Word Excel Outlook & Teams.
* Flexible enthusiastic and methodical in your approach to project work.
* Self‑motivated & comfortable taking responsibility across a range of tasks.

* Enthusiasm and drive to develop your skillset and seek out development opportunities within a supportive team.
* A passion for working in a consultancy environment.

* Comfortable to embrace agile ways of working and learning new technologies.
