We are currently looking for a Senior Practitioner to work in our Community Addiction Recovery Services (CAReS) within South Lanarkshire Council.

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to take on this role. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day allocation work within the services and offer Senior Practitioner oversight to Substance Use Workers and Social Workers as and when required across the locality teams whilst managing a small specific caseload of individuals accessing the service. Amongst other duties, the successful candidate will also attend professional working meetings, liaising with colleagues to disseminate information back to team members involved with cases discussed in these multi-disciplinary forums.

You must be able to work effectively as part of a team and autonomously while managing your workload. You will possess excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills with the ability to manage diverse and complex areas of work, liaising with multi-disciplinary professionals to obtain quality outcomes within decision making.

You will be responsible to the Community Addiction Recovery Operations Managers and must have the ability to manage delegated tasks timeously, being accountable for providing outcome information to both Social Work and NHS Managers involved in the Integrated Service as required.

To be considered for a Senior Practitioner post you will need to have extensive experience working with adults in a statutory setting. It would be desirable that you have experience of working with Adults experiencing Addiction. You will have knowledge of relevant policies, legislation, and guidance together with an ability to assess and manage risk.

To apply for a Senior Practitioner post you must have aDegree in Social Work, Dip SW or other recognised Social Work Qualification. You must be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council and have had Adult Support and Protection training to Council Officer level. You must have a minimum of 2-year post-qualifying experience, accompanied by:

* Evidence of a Post Graduate Qualification(Practice Teacher Award, Mental Health Officer training, PQ award or equivalent), or
* Specialist qualification(s) in working with those experiencing addiction or other relevant area of practice, and
* Evidence of management of complex cases

This new role will offer a route for career progression for Social Workers who want to continue to develop their career within the specialism of Addiction Recovery.
