Overview
Patient Transport Driver - Windsor. This post is based at Windsor Dialysis, 1 Maidenhead Road, Old Ambulance Station, Windsor, SL4 5EY, and attracts a fringe payment of 5% of gross basic salary. The role is to transport patients to and from the unit in a safe and professional manner, following pre-determined schedules and organising routes as appropriate.
Responsibilities
* Drive vehicles to transport users of the Haemodialysis Satellite Unit in Windsor safely to and from their place of residence.
* Follow pre-determined schedules and organise routes to transport patients safely and efficiently.
* Ensure patient comfort at all times and comply with the Road Traffic Act and DVLA regulations, subject to appropriate training.
* Undertake driving duties of all types of vehicles to required standards and participate in induction and mandatory drivers’ training as provided by the Trust.
* Cover shifts as required; the unit operates Monday to Saturday with three shifts starting from 06:00 to 12:30 midnight.
* Informal visits to the unit prior to shortlisting are encouraged.
Qualifications and Requirements
* You must have a C1 licence to be considered for interview.
* Previous driving experience around the local area is essential.
* Experience driving various vehicle types and maintaining patient safety and comfort.
* Willingness to undertake a Trust induction and mandatory drivers’ related training.
* Respect for and adherence to DVLA regulations and relevant road traffic laws, with appropriate training provided.
