Managing Director, Insurance & Financial Services Recruiter – Business Development Executive (a chance to move into Corporate Insurance Broking). Hybrid-Working. Our client is one of the biggest names in commercial insurance, and has partnered with a leading High Street bank who have committed to generate a high volume of warm, qualified leads from their customer base. This is a fantastic place to learn the ropes of commercial insurance broking. Prior to visiting these customers you will undertake an extensive in-house training programme, bringing you up to speed on the nuances of the insurance sector and how best to promote the features and benefits of various covers (such as Employer’s & Public Liability, Professional Indemnity and Property Insurance) to customers from a variety of industry sectors. This practical training will be backed by professional qualifications under the Chartered Insurance Institute.
We are eager to hear from candidates with a demonstrable track record of success in a similar B2B sales-based role. You should be comfortable approaching MDs and FDs of businesses from a wide range of sectors, including construction, manufacturing, technology, life sciences, and more. You must have a sophisticated approach to business development, including solutions-based selling, prospecting, highlighting USPs, using open questions and trial closing. You will manage relationships with banking partners in your region and will have autonomy with significant time spent on the road visiting banks and prospective customers. Self-motivation and excellent task-management skills are essential.
We are hiring for several roles across the North East and Yorkshire, with a portfolio of bank branches allocated to your region. This role can be worked on a hybrid/remote basis (checking-in to a local office) from the M62 Corridor to Newcastle.
You will receive a generous basic salary, backed by a lucrative, uncapped commission scheme paid quarterly, and a generous benefits package (including a market-leading pension arrangement) that can be tailored to your personal circumstances.
Responsibilities
* Learn and promote commercial insurance products and the features and benefits of covers such as Employer’s & Public Liability, Professional Indemnity and Property Insurance.
* Engage in inhouse training and qualify professional credentials under the Chartered Insurance Institute.
* Develop new business in a B2B context, targeting MDs and FDs across diverse sectors.
* Apply a sophisticated, solutions-based approach to prospecting, highlighting USPs, and using open questions and trial closes.
* Manage relationships with banking partners and operate with a high degree of autonomy, including significant travel to banks and prospective customers.
* Collaborate with a leading bank partner to generate leads and support opportunity creation in your region.
Qualifications
* Demonstrable track record of success in a similar B2B sales-based role.
* Comfort approaching senior stakeholders (MDs and FDs) across multiple sectors.
* Strong business development skills with a solutions-based selling mindset, prospecting, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
* Self-motivated, highly organized, and capable of managing a substantial field-based workload.
* Willingness to work across the North East and Yorkshire, with hybrid/remote working arrangements.
