**Please note that we are looking to recruit 1x full-time permanent post and 1x full-time, fixed-term post (12 months).**
The post-holder will work as part of the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Pathology (SYBP) Laboratory IT team, providing technical support to laboratories and staff, following standard operating procedures.
Typical Duties Will Include
1. Incident management for Directorate IT systems.
2. Maintenance of Laboratory Medicine IT and data transfer systems, including both in-house developed and externally procured software.
3. Support for laboratory IT projects.
4. First-line support to external users regarding connectivity and access to laboratory results, within partner trust hospitals and external customers.
5. Supporting the effective use of data, information, knowledge, and technology to improve health and healthcare delivery across SYBP.
6. Contributing to all aspects of IM&T provision to support operational and business needs.
7. Providing front-line IT support for laboratory staff, investigating issues, documenting, and liaising with stakeholders.
8. Monitoring incidents and service requests, communicating progress to staff and partners.
9. Recording and interpreting complex technical information to assist staff.
10. Using diagnostic and problem-solving skills to resolve issues, escalating when necessary.
11. Routine maintenance of commercial laboratory software, including database management.
12. Testing systems for accuracy, performance, data quality, and resilience.
13. Maintaining SOPs for UKAS accreditation compliance.
14. Providing documentation, including end-user guides and SOPs, for system support.
SYB Pathology is a partnership among five Acute Trusts within the ICS footprint, hosted by Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, aiming to provide equitable, high-quality pathology services, fostering research, innovation, and workforce sustainability.
