Advert INFRASTRUCTURE AND ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT Property, Asset Management and Facilities Asset Management Surveyor 35 hours per week Permanent £39,941 - £44,120 / £44,686 - £47,368 £21.89 - £24.18 / £24.49 - £25.96 per hour The above amounts include Distant Islands Allowance We are looking for a professional with property management skills to join an established Estates team within our Service. The postholder will be responsible for delivering a professional property management service, including commercial properties, lease management, acquisition and disposal and you must be able to deal with a wide range of property related matters and enquiries. Your duties will include leading the day-to-day management of the Council’s commercial property portfolio comprising approximately 120 investment properties generating in excess of £1.8M annual rental income. You should be able to demonstrate a full range of professional skills associated with property and asset management, with a good understanding of leases and commercial property requirements. You should have good communication skills and be able to work closely with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders. This is a career grade post and salary will be linked to progression through a career development scheme. For appointment at Grade I: You should hold a qualification in Building Surveying, Asset management, Estate Surveying or another relevant subject at SCQF 8/9 i.e. SVQ4, HND, General Degree, Higher Apprenticeship, Technical Apprenticeship AND have a minimum of 5 years previous relevant experience, as detailed in the experience section of this person specification. For appointment at or progression to Grade J: You must hold a relevant professional qualification /diploma and have over 5 years previous relevant experience. The professional qualification required in this role is a Degree or equivalent SCQF level 9 qualification in Building Surveying, Asset management, Estate Surveying or another relevant subject. You are also required to hold full Professional membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and have a demonstrable track record in relevant professional undertakings. You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
