Offer description

Is this the role for you?

We’re looking for a collaborative and detail‑oriented Merchandising Executive with a strong understanding of the TV and VOD landscape, creative thinking, and a passion for delivering an exceptional viewer experience. This role sits within Channel 5’s VOD Editorial team, reporting to the Merchandising Manager, and will play a key part in shaping the future of the 5Streaming platform. This is a hands‑on, execution‑focused role — ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the detail of the platform experience.

What will you be doing?

Assisting in the Curation and Enhancement of the 5Streaming Customer Experience

* Working alongside the Merchandising Manager to shape homepage layouts, rails, and collections to maximise viewer engagement and satisfaction.
* Implementing day‑to‑day updates within the 5Streaming UI, including building and refreshing rails, featured slots and collections.
* Ensuring Merchandising plans are effectively inputted into scheduling systems. Analyse streaming data to continuously improve content placement and discoverability.
* Work closely with the 5Streaming image team to help select episodic artwork that elevates the featured area and rail presentation.

Develop and Maintain Affiliate Relationships

* Build strong partnerships with affiliates such as Sky, Virgin, Amazon, Samsung and others. Working with the Merchandising Manager to create monthly affiliate presentations, with the aim of expanding our content reach with UI prominence on affiliate platforms.
* Support partner merchandising by sharing priorities, assets and promotional information, ensuring accurate on‑platform and off‑platform representation.

Maximise Content Performance

* Use platform performance signals (e.g., clicks/starts/completion where available) to refine rail ordering and plan future content launches on platform.

Support VOD Content Scheduling

* Assist with planning and scheduling VOD releases to ensure timely and strategic launches. Maintain accurate records of content schedules and updates.
* Work closely with scheduling stakeholders to ensure the UI reflects the correct priorities, timings and availability windows.

Team support

* Provide cover across the VOD Editorial team when required, with a focus on merchandising and front‑end execution.

What are we looking for?

* Experience working in VOD, broadcasting, or digital content environments.
* Detail orientated candidate with experience of inputting scheduling/merchandising plans into systems.
* Demonstrable hands‑on experience of UI merchandising (e.g., rails, homepage layouts, featured collections) within a streaming/VOD or content platform. Confidence in pitching, particularly around new ideas for content merchandising.
* Strong team player with proven collaboration skills. Effective time management across multiple projects and deadlines.
* Proactive and creative mindset with a keen eye for new opportunities. Interest in the evolving media and streaming landscape.
* Strong visual editing and asset selection skills. Familiarity with Channel 5 / 5Streaming content and audience.
* Desirable (not essential): Experience with scheduling tools (e.g., WON) and/or analytics tools (e.g., Adobe Analytics/Tableau).
