Job Summary
Deliver high‑quality gastroenterology and hepatology care, contribute to service improvement programmes, and support the development of the new state‑of‑the‑art hospital and digital transformation initiatives.
Main Duties
* Perform high‑quality diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, colonoscopy and upper/lower GI endoscopy.
* Manage acute and general medicine takes, including medical takes and specialist registration.
* Contribute to the GIRFT (Getting It Right First Time) and CIP (Cost Improvement Programme) initiatives and implement evidence‑based new ways of working.
* Support the service improvement programme and the development of the new electronic patient record (EPR) roll‑out.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
* Full registration and licence to practise with the General Medical Council.
* MRCP UK (Full) or equivalent experience.
* JAG accreditation in upper and lower GI endoscopy.
* High‑quality diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy and colonoscopy skills.
* High‑quality skills in general and acute medicine with the ability to manage medical takes.
Desirable
* MD/PhD or research experience.
* Entry on GMC Specialist Register; eligible for entry on Register or within six months of receipt of CCT or CESR in gastroenterology and general internal medicine at the time of interview.

* Contract: Fixed term, 12 months.
* Salary: £109,725 to £145,478 per annum pro rata.
