Lecturer in History – A Levels

Salary – £12,452 – £15,721 per annum, all year round

Hours – 15.5 hours per week

Contract – Permanent, all year round

Location – Stamford

Closing Date – 27th April 2026

Stamford College is looking for a Lecturer in History to join our A Levels team and help shape the next generation of learners. This part‑time (15.5 hours per week), permanent role is available all year round. You will teach and assess A Level History, support student learning, coordinate the curriculum, and contribute to continuous improvement.

What you will be doing:

Deliver engaging and effective teaching in A Level History; design and develop course materials, schemes of work, and group profiles; provide academic tutorials, feedback, and guidance to support student progress; embed English, maths, and digital skills into learning activities; contribute to promotion of courses and student recruitment; support work experience placements and employer engagement; participate in quality assurance, self‑assessment, and continuous improvement; ensure high standards of student behaviour and welfare; collaborate with colleagues to develop and review programmes; maintain a stimulating and supportive learning environment.

What we are looking for:

* Qualified teacher (or willing to work towards this within an agreed timeframe)
* Degree in a relevant subject
* Experience teaching A Level History in schools or colleges
* Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire and motivate students
* Creativity and innovation in teaching strategies
* Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills
* Commitment to safeguarding, equality of opportunity, and student‑centred learning
* Desirable: experience in Further Education or course coordination
