Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is a major provider of integrated hospital and community services for people living in Buckinghamshire and the surrounding area. This includes Thame (Oxfordshire), Tring (Hertfordshire) and Leighton Buzzard (Bedfordshire). We provide care to over half a million patients every year. We have over 6,000 highly trained clinical staff. This includes doctors, nurses, midwives, health visitors, therapists, and healthcare scientists.
Amersham Hospital is one of several Community Hospitals within the Trust. We have three inpatient areas: Chartridge Ward, Waterside Unit, and Buckinghamshire Neuro Rehabilitation Unit.
We are looking to appoint new Healthcare Assistants to join our team on Waterside Unit.
We are looking for enthusiastic & caring individuals, with excellent communication skills.
We require you to have a good standard of English and numeracy skills, and a passion for looking after older people.
Should you be shortlisted we will invite you to attend a numeracy and literacy competency test. If you meet the standards we require, you will be interviewed. This process is aimed at identifying whether we are the right employer for you, and whether you are the right candidate for us.
Main duties of the job
You will need to have excellent communication and inter-personal skills, the ability to work both within a team and independently, and the ability to offer a high level of nursing care. Training and clinical supervision opportunities are available to the successful candidates.
Working on Waterside Unit you will be working closely with a large multi-disciplinary team consisting of nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, doctors, pharmacists, social workers & discharge coordinators.

16. Level 2 or Level 3 (NVQ) in health and Social Care or equivalent relevant experience

20. Experience of working with people, ideally in a front-line customer service role.

PPE requirements: Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust requires all colleagues to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with our infection prevention and control procedures.
COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations remain the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course our patients from the viruses when working in our healthcare settings. We encourage our staff to be vaccinated when recommended.
