As a Transport Shift Manager, you will manage the day to day running of the Transport operation, together with motivating and managing a large team of direct reports (including Transport Operators, Drivers & Shunters). Working hours : 4 on 4 off nights, 18.30-06.30 Key Duties of aTransport Shift Manager: Ensure all aspects of Transport legal compliance and Health & Safety are maintained and that deliveries are made on time and at the right standard. Operate within budget/KPI levels of the site and strive to exceed these expectations. Manage and investigate all delivery issues, communicating effectively to both internal and external clients as required. Involvement in the recruitment and training of new starters
operations staff and drivers. Maintain regular reviews and develop Personal Development Plans for all team members to maximise their contributions to the department. Conduct safety conversations with all colleagues to engage and raise awareness of Health & Safety. Review and conduct risk assessments of the site, delivery points and collection points and complete regular work place inspections. Ensure full adherence to all statutory and legal requirements. Manage the teams performance in line with Drivers Hours, WTD and MPG KPIs. Qualifications
Proven experience within a similar transport management position in FMCG environment. Ability to motivate, lead and manage a team. Significant knowledge and experience of tachographs, driving rules and regulations. Ability to effectively prioritise workloads in order to meet set deadlines. Have a professional and approachable character to ensure smooth running of the general operation. Be customer service driven with strong negotiating skills and the ability to influence and steer. Good IT skills including MS Office with a high level of numeracy and a keen eye for detail. Additional Information
