An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This challenging yet rewarding role involves leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. The position requires overseeing credit-related activities such as risk management, developing and implementing credit policies, and managing the team. This is an office-based role at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.
The successful candidate will:
* Have prior experience in a busy credit control environment,
* Possess strong financial understanding,
* Be capable of problem-solving,
* Be confident in leading a team,
* Be self-motivated and driven,
* Have excellent communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the success of the credit function.
Key responsibilities include:
* Act as the main contact with Credit Insurers, monitor insured limits, submit claims, and assist in renewal negotiations,
* Organise and lead monthly meetings with senior management,
* Provide management information on debts, debtor days, collections, and other reports as needed,
* Handle cash collection for all group companies,
* Ensure departmental systems and protocols are effective and enforced,
* Oversee the Credit Control Department and manage the team proactively,
* Manage credit applications and provision of PODs,
* Make major or sensitive credit decisions,
* Control credit limits,
* Manage litigation, insolvency cases, and pursue claims,
* Set and manage credit policies and credit notes,
* Conduct risk assessments for existing and new credit applicants,
* Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders,
* Review sales Terms and Conditions,
* Visit customers and sites as required.
