We're looking for someone who is driven, dedicated and confident with a sound knowledge of the law relating to safeguarding adults to join our Legal and Governance service as our Deputy Principal Lawyer for Social Care. You'll play an important role in helping us deliver strong, reliable legal support for children and adult social care services across Milton Keynes. This is a rewarding position where you'll help us do the right thing for the people we serve, working closely with colleagues and stakeholders to provide high quality, timely legal advice. Responsibilities
* Support the Head of Legal for Litigation and Social Care and act as deputy for the Principal Lawyer when needed.
* Line manage social care paralegals, making sure work is delivered on time and to a high standard.
* Manage your own varied caseload, including advocacy when appropriate.
* Build strong working relationships with the wider legal team, advocates, client departments and key stakeholders.
Qualifications
* A qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives with significant social care legal experience.
* Able to confidently handle complex care matters and explain legal issues clearly.
* Experience in advising upon the law relating to safeguarding adults.
* Skilled at drafting and communicating in writing and in person.
* Experienced in supporting and leading a team, with proven line management experience.
* Comfortable using digital legal systems and case management systems.
