Specialist Dietitian – Band 6 Community (Prescribing)

An opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 dietitian to join the innovative Lothian-wide Prescribing Support Dietetic Team. The role of the team is to ensure appropriate prescribing of nutritional products. The clinical caseload is primarily malnourished care home residents and patients newly discharged from hospital. The post holder will co-ordinate the

Dietetic service to the Edinburgh Council Care Homes.

There will be opportunities to contribute to and develop our Care Home training programme and work closely alongside primary care colleagues.

The post holder would be expected to supervise junior team members including dietetic support worker as well as participate in student training clinical placements.

We are strongly committed to training and support for CPD and clinical governance, with a supervision framework, annual appraisals, peer support and training opportunities to further develop your clinical skills.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.

Please note: As this post is part-time, the salary will be pro-rata.
