Job Overview
We are seeking a Craftsperson (Overhead Lines) based in Gloucester. You will undertake construction, maintenance, replacement, and repair of overhead lines up to 66kV, working in diverse terrains and weather conditions. Experience working at height is beneficial.
Qualifications
Candidates must have Grade A*-C/4-9 GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent Functional Skills Level qualifications. Evidence of qualifications will be required prior to appointment.
Ideal Candidate
Experience with overhead cables or working at height is preferred but not essential. Candidates must be confident and capable of reaching required standards with training. You will study for relevant City & Guilds qualifications and complete TAR, including diary entries and tasks.
Additional Requirements
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, make quick decisions, and meet tight deadlines. Flexibility and mobility within the area are necessary, including standby duties.
Notes
* The initial salary may be lower until training is completed.
Applicants should reside within approximately 30 minutes of the depot. Due to working at height and using fall protection equipment, weight restrictions apply.
This role is subject to a satisfactory DBS check and other vetting procedures. Candidates who applied in the last six months need not reapply.
