Assistant Accountant
Location: Inverness, Scotland
Salary:£35,000 - £45,000

The role
You will:
* Lead and develop a team of 4 to 5, setting priorities and building capability.
* Deliver timely management accounts with clear variance insight.
* Oversee AP, AR, payroll and the GL, keeping data clean and controls tight.
* Maintain a robust balance sheet and improve cash flow and balance sheet forecasting.
* Be audit ready year round and act as the key contact for external auditors.
* Improve processes, policies and reporting tools, then embed them with the team.
About you
* 3 to 5 years in finance or accounting with proven team leadership.
* Strong grasp of controls, statutory reporting and audits. Clear communicator who partners well across functions.
* Advanced Excel and confident with accounting software. Pegasus Opera and payroll exposure are a plus. Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CA) is desirable.
