️ Cemeteries Administrator – Belfast City Council Location: 4-10 Linenhall Street, Belfast BT2 Hours: 37 hours per week Rate: £14.35 Per Hour Role Overview We are seeking a professional and compassionate Cemeteries Administrator to provide administrative and customer support within Belfast City Council’s Bereavement Services team. You will support cemetery and crematorium operations, handle sensitive enquiries, maintain records, and assist bereaved families and funeral directors in a respectful and professional manner. Key Responsibilities ✅ Provide reception and administrative support to bereavement services ✅ Assist with funeral bookings, records, permits and documentation ✅ Handle sensitive customer enquiries with care and confidentiality ✅ Maintain accurate burial and cremation records ✅ Liaise with funeral directors, memorial masons, staff and the public ✅ Prepare and process documentation & data entry ✅ Support cemetery office functions and compliance procedures ✅ Work in line with council policies, GDPR and health & safety guidelines ✅ Ideal Candidate Previous admin or clerical experience (local authority or public services advantageous) Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information Good IT and data entry skills Organised, empathetic and professional approach Ability to remain calm and supportive in emotional situations Skills & Attributes Excellent communication & telephone skills Compassionate & respectful in dealing with bereaved individuals Strong organisation and attention to detail Proficient in Microsoft Office / CRM systems Ability to work independently and as part of a small team Working Hours Mon–Thurs: 8:30am – 5:00pm Fri: 8:30am – 4:30pm
