Role Overview
We are looking for a Machinist to join our Machine Shop team in Shipley, West Yorkshire, working the triple shift pattern.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating machine tools to manufacture engineering components, ensuring parts meet required standards and specifications.
- Auditing areas to meet company 6S standards, operating and setting machinery safely and efficiently.
- Replacing and monitoring cutting tools, delivering thorough end‑of‑shift handovers.
- Providing on‑the‑job training to apprentices and new employees.
- Participating in non‑conformance investigations using techniques such as 5‑Whys and 8‑Disciplines (5Y/8D) and documenting relevant data.
- Communicating effectively with colleagues across shifts.
Qualifications & Experience
- Apprentice trained engineer (NVQ3 or equivalent) or similar mechanical/technical flexibility.
- Experience with manufacturing small batch complex components.
- Knowledge of Mazak, Heidenhain or Fanuc controls is desirable but not essential.
- Strong working knowledge of manufacturing standards and ability to work unsupervised.
