What You Will Be DoingAs a Livestock Manager, you will take strategic and operational responsibility for the estate's livestock enterprises, working closely with the Farm Manager and wider leadership team.Key responsibilities include:Leading the day-to-day and long-term management of cattle and sheep operationsDeveloping and delivering grazing strategies that support soil health and productivityDriving high standards of animal welfare, biosecurity, and complianceOverseeing breeding, rearing, and finishing systems to optimise performanceManaging and developing a team, including providing leadership to shepherding staffMonitoring performance through data, ensuring accurate record-keeping and audit readinessContributing to financial planning, budgeting, and enterprise decision-makingSupporting regenerative farming practices and environmental stewardship initiativesIdentifying opportunities to enhance productivity, sustainability, and commercial returnsCollaborating across the wider business and representing the estate externally where required What You NeedTo be successful in this role, you will bring a strong combination of technical expertise, leadership experience, and a passion for sustainable livestock systems.You will have:A degree in agriculture or a related disciplineProven experience in a livestock management roleStrong background in sheep production, including outdoor lambing systemsExperience with suckler beef systems, including calving through to finishingIn-depth knowledge of grazing systems, ideally regenerative or rotational approachesSolid understanding of livestock performance, genetics, and animal healthExperience with compliance, assurance schemes, and regulatory frameworksFinancial awareness, including budgeting and data-driven decision-makingStrong leadership and people management skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilitiesA proactive, organised, and self-motivated approachFull UK driving licence (working dogs advantageous but not essential) What Is in It for YouCompetitive Salary with accommodation25 days annual leave plus bank holidaysNon-contributory pension scheme at 8% within the probation period, rising to 15% on successful completion of probation at 6 monthsA strategic leadership role with real influence on the future direction of the enterpriseInvolvement in progressive, regenerative farming systemsSupportive team environment with a focus on continuous improvementLong-term career development within a prestigious rural setting How to ApplyIf you are an experienced livestock manager looking to join a progressive farming estate, I would love to hear from you.
