Sketchley School is recruiting for a Maintenance Assistant to join their maintenance team working across our three sites:
* Sketchley Hall, Burbage
* Progression House, Hinckley
* Forest House, Narborough
We are looking for a passionate handyperson and an enthusiastic DIYer, who will carry out reactive day-to-day maintenance issues within the site and grounds. You will also support our other schools in the community, liaising with contractors when on site and handling ad-hoc requests from management as needed.
Our benefits include exclusive access to a reward and discount scheme, comprehensive induction, ongoing training and career progression, pension scheme, paid-for enhanced DBS, wellbeing support, cycle-to-work scheme, and more!
As part of Aspris Children’s Services, we are proud of the career pathways and training we offer. We ask that you demonstrate the values needed for this role, along with transferable skills and life experience. In return, we will provide all necessary training and support to help you progress.
Ideally, you will have experience in general labouring skills and handyperson work, along with the following characteristics:
* Resilience – Your working environment may involve interacting with young people who may display behavioral challenges, autism, ADHD, and emotional difficulties.
* Organized – You should be confident and organized in record-keeping, ensuring issues are logged on internal systems and routine maintenance checks are up to date.
* Communicative – Effective communication with your team, colleagues, and third parties, both verbally and in writing, is essential.
* Attentive – No two jobs are the same, so being attentive to understand and support where needed is important.
* Flexibility – Ability to work as part of a team, cover work patterns as necessary, and move across all three sites during working hours.
We provide a supportive and collaborative environment where you can flourish and feel rewarded by helping those in need.
Interviews for this role will take place in the week commencing 30th June 2025.
If you want to progress your career, Aspris Children’s Services will help you get there.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All applicants must be willing to undergo safeguarding screening, including checks with the Disclosure & Barring Service/Disclosure Scotland, and provide at least two references covering the last three years.
