Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and a strong commitment to providing high-quality care. As a Support Worker, you will assist in the daily lives of individuals, ensuring their needs are met while promoting independence and well-being.
Key Responsbilities
* Support children in their daily routines, education, and personal development.
* Assist in implementing individualised care plans and behaviour support strategies.
* Foster positive relationships with children through effective communication and active engagement.
* Work in partnership with families, schools, and external professionals.
* Maintain accurate records and reports in line with safeguarding and regulatory standards.
* Participate in activities, outings, and appointments, ensuring safe supervision and transport when required.
Duties
* Provide support to children in various settings, including home and community environments.
* Assist with the development and implementation of care plans tailored to individual needs.
* Foster positive relationships through effective communication and active listening.
* Help children with daily activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and educational support.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation related to care plans and progress.
* Collaborate with families, educators, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
* Drive to various locations as required for outings or appointments, ensuring safe transport.
* Utilise IT skills to manage schedules, record information, and communicate effectively.
Requirements
* Minimum 2 years' experience working with children (residential or similar care setting).
* NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care or Childcare (or equivalent qualification).
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Full UK driving licence (preferred).
* Previous experience working with children is essential.
* Knowledge of childcare practices and child development principles is advantageous.
* Familiarity with creating and following care plans is beneficial.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required for effective interaction with children and families.
