Engineering Storeman
Location: North Walsham
Salary: £38,000 + Benefits
Hours: Monday–Friday Days
Own a Stores Function That Directly Impacts Production Performance
This is more than a typical storeman role.
You’ll take full ownership of the engineering stores function, playing a key role in ensuring engineers have the right parts, at the right time — supporting planned maintenance, asset reliability, and production uptime.
You’ll operate at the centre of the asset care function, working closely with engineering and planning teams to drive stock accuracy, improve processes, and support high equipment availability.
The Role: Engineering Storeman
* Take ownership of the day-to-day engineering stores operation
* Manage goods-in, inspection, storage and issuing via CMMS (Limble)
* Ensure critical spares availability to support maintenance strategy
* Work closely with planning teams to anticipate demand (forward planning)
* Raise purchase orders and manage spares spend in line with budget
* Maintain accurate asset, stock and machine data within CMMS
* Manage stock integrity, obsolescence and availability risk
* Drive 5S and workplace organisation standards
* Support and contribute to internal audits (HSHEQ, BRC, compliance)
What Makes This Role Different
* Ownership – you’ll run the stores function, not just operate within it
* Impact – directly contributes to equipment reliability and uptime
* Visibility – work closely with engineering, planning and leadership teams
* Improvement Focus – opportunity to enhance systems, processes and organisation
* Progression – pathway into wider asset care, CI or engineering support roles
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in an Engineering / Maintenance Stores environment
* Strong working knowledge of CMMS systems (daily use essential)
* Background within manufacturing, engineering or technical environments
* Strong attention to detail and stock accuracy discipline
* Experience with 5S / workplace organisation / CI principles
* Confident communicator across engineering, planning and operations teams
* IT literate (Excel, systems, reporting)
* GCSE Maths & English (A-Level / BTEC advantageous)
You may also bring:
* Experience improving stores processes, layout or stock control systems
* Exposure to audits, compliance or stock governance
* Experience supporting maintenance planning or asset care activities
* A proactive mindset toward continuous improvement and efficiency
Package
* £38,000 salary
* 33 days holiday (including bank holidays)
* 4% employer pension contribution
* Monday–Friday days (stable, no shifts)
The Bottom Line
If you’re someone who takes pride in running a structured, accurate and reliable store operation, and you want a role where your work genuinely impacts production performance, this is a strong opportunity
