Job Overview

As a Team Leader at Hobbycraft you will assist the Store Manager in the day‑to‑day running of the store. You will also be responsible for running the store in the Store Manager’s absence, delivering excellent customer service that encourages repeat visits and drives incremental sales. A customer‑focused experience is key to our continued success, and as an integral member of the management team you will demonstrate our brand values in every aspect of your work.

Areas of Responsibility

* Teamwork and Leadership – lead by example, coach colleagues, drive outstanding customer service and commercial awareness
* Brand Ambassador – passionately promote the Hobbycraft brand and embrace change proactively
* Planner – ensure the store is prepared for a successful trade day
* Relationship Builder – treat everyone fairly, with dignity and respect, upholding our Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging policy
* Merchandiser – coordinate deliveries; manual handling is essential
* Click and Collect – coordinate the Click and Collect process
* Policy Expert – comply with company policies and Health & Safety Regulations to keep the store safe and legal
* Communicator – deliver clear and concise communications, key messages and daily targets so the team understands expectations
* Workshops – host various in‑store workshops
* Store Management – support the Store Manager, take responsibility for running the store in their absence, keyholder duties, opening/closing, alarm callouts, cash controls, PI counts, general admin, back‑of‑house access, security, and data compliance (payroll, recruitment, personal data)
* Recruitment – assist in building a high‑performing team through recruitment, induction and training
* Colleague Support – provide coaching and support where appropriate


What We’re Looking For (Experience)

* A proven track record in a retail or similar environment, including:
o Duty Management experience (advantageous)
o Passion for sales and driving profit
o Keyholding
o Cash handling and security awareness
o Coaching colleagues
o Merchandising experience
o Health and safety compliance
o Awareness of store KPIs
* Effective time management
* Determination to inspire success within your team

Job Suitability

This role is suited to a current Team Leader in a retail or similar environment, or an experienced colleague seeking a first move onto the management career path. The ideal candidate will be confident, professional, calm, resilient, and able to work well under pressure while coping with changing priorities.
