Interim FC - Manufacturing SME Experience - Chelmsford About the Role Hays are recruiting an Interim Financial Controller ( initial 3-month contract ) for a manufacturing SME based just outside Chelmsford. This is a hands-on role requiring strong cost accounting expertise and the ability to interpret and explain financial variances. You’ll support the business through a period of transition and will be re quired to be on-site 5 days a week. Key Responsibilities: Lead cost accounting, variance analysis, and stock/WIP reporting Deliver insightful financial commentary and analysis using Excel (advanced formulas, no VBA) Use Power BI to enhance reporting and analysis (highly desirable but not required) Manage a small finance team of 3-4 Oversee audit preparation and liaise with external auditors Understand invoice financing and insured debt processes Review payroll and ensure correct journal postings in collaboration with team About You: Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) Proven experience in manufacturing finance roles Strong Excel and data analysis skills Ability to “tell the story” behind the numbers Comfortable managing a small team and working independently Power BI experience is a significant advantage Apply Now: If you're available immediately and ready to take on a rewarding interim opportunity in a dynamic manufacturing environment, we’d love to hear from you. 4727621
