Job Title: Pharmacy Technician (ACT) – Band 5 Banding: Band 5 Location: West Midlands Start Date: ASAP Duration: asap – 3months plus Hourly Rate: £18 - £20 ph umbrella (or its PAYE equivalent) Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, full-time Job Overview Pulse is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 5 Pharmacy Technician (ACT) to join a busy NHS hospital pharmacy service in the West Midlands. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to high‑quality dispensary services within a fast‑paced and supportive environment. You will play a key role in ensuring the safe and accurate supply of medicines, supporting clinical teams, and delivering patient‑centred care. Candidates with MTT experience are highly desirable. Key Responsibilities Deliver safe, efficient, and accurate dispensary services, including accuracy checking. Support medicines management services where required (preferred). Provide high‑quality medicines information and support to patients and healthcare professionals. Work collaboratively with pharmacists, technicians, and wider MDT colleagues. Ensure compliance with legal, professional, and organisational standards. Participate in audits, service development, and quality improvement initiatives. Maintain accurate documentation and uphold robust governance practices. Qualifications and Experience Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). ACT qualification/certificate (essential). Previous NHS hospital experience (essential). hospital wards experience (preferred but not essential). Strong communication, organisational, and teamwork skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment with excellent attention to detail.
