The Team
The Business Development and Knowledge Exchange team leads the University\'s external engagement strategy, supporting income generation, strategic partnerships, and the growth of our Degree Apprenticeship portfolio. The team works collaboratively across academic schools and professional services to deliver impactful employer-focused programmes that meet national and regional skills needs.
The Role
This strategic role will lead business development activity for York St John University\'s Degree Apprenticeship provision. You will be responsible for expanding employer partnerships, enhancing programme offerings, and ensuring alignment with national frameworks and University priorities.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure our apprenticeships are innovative, inclusive, and responsive to market demand. The role includes line management of a Business Development Administrator and collaboration with colleagues across compliance, operations, and curriculum development.
This role is fixed term working 29.6 hours per week typically across Monday to Friday. There may be occasional evening or weekend commitments to support events or external engagement activities, for which time off in lieu will be provided.
Required Skills and Experience
* We are seeking a candidate with:
* A proven track record in the sector, ideally within apprenticeships or higher education.
* Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
* Knowledge of ESFA/DfE funding rules, Ofsted requirements, and Skills England frameworks.
* Excellent communication, data analysis, and IT proficiency.
* A commitment to equality, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
