Inspire, Support and Transform Through Food Technology!We are recruiting a passionate and skilled SEN Food Technology Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive specialist school in Northamptonshire. This is an exciting opportunity to teach Food Technology to learners with a range of additional needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), ASD,munication difficulties and cognitive learning needs. Your role will empower pupils to gain confidence, independence and practical life skills within a safe and nurturing environment.

• Deliver engaging, hands-on Food Technology lessons tailored to individual needs

• Help pupils build independence, confidence and key practical skills

Your Key Responsibilities• Plan and deliver differentiated Food Technology lessons for pupils with diverse SEN needs
• Promote independence through safe food handling, nutrition education and practical cooking activities
• Implement strategies such as visual supports, positive reinforcement and de‑escalation techniques
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, therapists and families
• Maintain a safe, organised and inclusive food tech environment, includingpliance with health and safety standards
• Track and record pupil progress; contribute to EHCP reviews, reports and multi‑agency discussions
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour and transitions throughout the day
What We’re Looking For• QTS or QTLS (Food Tech specialism desirable but not essential)
• Experience teaching pupils with SEN and/or SEMH needs
• Strong understanding of differentiated learning and trauma‑informed practice
• A calm, nurturing and resilient approach to behaviour
• Creativity, adaptability and a supportive attitude
• Excellent teamwork andmunication skills
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
