At Tradewind Recruitment, we are proud to be working with secondary schools to support students who need targeted literacy intervention. We are currently recruiting a Phonics Intervention Teacher to work with Key Stage 3 students, helping them build essential reading and decoding skills that will support their learning across the curriculum.
This is a rewarding opportunity for an primary teacher who is passionate about literacy, enjoys intervention-based teaching, and wants to see clear, measurable impact in a supportive school environment.
The Role:
Deliver high-quality phonics and literacy interventions to KS3 students
Work with small groups and on a one-to-one basis to address gaps in reading and spelling
Support students with additional needs, including those below age-related expectations
Monitor progress and adapt interventions to maximise outcomes
Collaborate with teaching and pastoral staff to support whole-school literacy strategies

What We're Looking For:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or strong experience delivering phonics-based interventions
Experience working with KS3 students, or primary phonics expertise transferable to secondary
A calm, encouraging approach and a commitment to improving literacy outcomes
An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
