About Us At Protocol Education, we help educators find roles where they can use their strengths and be valued for them. Our Sunderland team partners with specialist SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) provisions across the region. About the Role We’re seeking an SEMH Support Worker to join a nurturing alternative provision in Sunderland. You’ll be supporting pupils who benefit from structure, patience, and trusted adults who stay calm under pressure. What You’ll Be Doing Supporting pupils with SEMH needs through structured routines Using positive relationships to build engagement and resilience Assisting with vocational sessions, classroom tasks, and outdoor learning Tracking progress and sharing updates with staff What We’re Looking For Experience working with young people facing SEMH barriers An empathetic approach with strong listening skills Confidence using clear boundaries and restorative practice Reliability and commitment to helping pupils make progress Why Join Protocol Education Weekly PAYE pay Free online training modules including SEMH and Autism Awareness Dedicated consultant support from our Northeast team Long-term and short-term roles available All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
