We have an exciting opportunity for 2 band 6 Sister/Charge nurse on ward 37, Winter Escalation.
We are looking for 2 enthusiastic and highly motivated nurses to join the team.
Ward 37 consists of 24 beds where as a band 6 on the ward you will be responsible for providing leadership, expertise, advice and clinical ability.
A commitment to continuous professional development for both yourself and the team is essential, as this will ensure that our team has the required skills and knowledge to deliver safe and effective care.
You will be responsible for supporting your manager in ensuring that our service users needs are met through the delivery of high‑quality care.
Main duties of the job
 * To assist the Lead Nurse in the day to day running of the ward.
 * To assist the Lead Nurse in the management/leading of the ward and its nursing workforce.
 * Assisting the Lead Nurse with probationary management, incident investigations, roster management, assessing students and supporting new starters, appraisals, audits, service improvements and initiatives.
 * To participate in the assessing, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised care for medical patients.
 * To assist the MDT with providing clear and concise instructions to patients regarding treatment plans, medications, follow‑up care and self‑management strategies, promoting patient empowerment and adherence to healthcare recommendations.
 * To work collaboratively with all members of the MDT to develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs, ensuring continuity of care and effective communication across interdisciplinary teams.
 * To recognise changes in patient conditions which require the intervention of others and refer on / escalation as appropriate.
 * To clearly present the patient's point of view to others, including promoting and protecting the interest and dignity of patients.
 * Maintain accurate and thorough electronic patient records of patient assessments, interventions, responses to treatment and discharge instructions.
 * Ensure own practice is evidence‑based and contribute to the development of nursing practice in own area.
