As a Duty Manager, you be at the heart of our vibrant holiday programme, ensuring children and families enjoy safe, fun, and enriching experiences. You lead a team of staff and volunteers, coordinate daily activities, and be the go-to person for all things operational.

Job Description
Job purpose To support and lead the on-site delivery of a Department of Education-funded Holiday and Activity Fund programme (also known as the Healthy Holiday Programme) at a designated site or sites in Leeds, working in partnership with Leeds City Council colleagues, departments, Third Sector organisations and other providers directly delivering to activities to children and families taking part in the programme.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the delivery of a Healthy Holiday programme at any site within the Community Hub & Library Healthy Holiday provision network
* Present a warm, welcoming and friendly atmosphere to children and families taking part in the scheme
* Support, undertake and delegate daily tasks within the delivery team to ensure the programme is delivered on each day
* Report any safeguarding concerns to the management team, culture coordinator, sports coordinator, or the programme coordinator in line with the safeguarding policy and process
* Report into the Project Coordinator or other designated individual on each day
* Support volunteers and other support staff assisting in delivery of the programme each day
* Ensure that a copy of the daily register is emailed to HealthyHolidays@leeds.gov.uk by the end of each day.
* Report on the attendance of staff and volunteers each day.
* Support, encourage and signpost families to services available within the Community Hub & Library and other partner organisations.
* Participate in all related children and adult activities relevant to the Healthy Holiday programme and promote these activities to the families taking part.
* To be an ambassador for the Healthy Holiday programme, Community Hubs and Libraries and Leeds City Council, delivering excellent customer service to all its users.
* Undertake functions such as keeping the area in use by the programme safe and tidy at all times and reporting any issues or faults.
* Provide cover across the whole programme depending on the needs of the service
* Flexible and adaptable to change to assist other services as required commensurate to grade
* Participate in appraisal, training and development activities as necessary to ensure up to date knowledge and skills
* Improve own practice through observation, evaluation, discussion with colleagues and development programmes.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, knowing when to seek help and advice.
* Contribute to the overall ethos, work, and aims of the service by attending relevant meetings, training days/events as requested.
* Be aware of and comply with Leeds City Council policies and procedures e.g. child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person
* Be aware of and support difference and ensure equality for all working in an anti-discriminatory manner, upholding and promoting the values, standards and equal opportunities of Leeds City Council.
* Recognise and appropriately challenge any incidents of racism, bullying, harassment or victimisation and any form of abuse of equal opportunities, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
* The Council has adopted a flexibility protocol and this role will be expected to work within these parameters.

Qualifications
Current and valid Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (completed within the last three years) or be
willing to undertake a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate training (online). This training is provided by the programme at no cost to the employee but it is essential that it is completed and passed before casual hours are offered.

* Able to carry out all duties relating to the delivery of the Healthy Holiday programme.

* Able to contribute to the promotion of the Healthy Holiday programme and the Community Hubs and Libraries in which they are delivered
* Able to adapt and integrate successfully with other services delivered from the Community Hub and Library.
* Able to learn new skills, adapt to incoming new services and review service offer in order to keep knowledge base up to date.
* Able to demonstrate a high level of customer service skills.
Knowledge Required
* Knowledge (understanding) of the way in which Community Hub services must be related to individual and community needs.
* Literacy & numeracy skill are required
Experience Required

* In the use of computer packages
* Of working in a challenging environment and displaying resilience.
* Of working with children, either formal or informal.
