Occupational Health Advisor


Salary: £44,000.00-48,000.00, dependent on experience

Location: Northumberland Area.


Working Pattern & Flexibility

Predominantly site based currently but with flex on hybrid working setting. Hours are 40 per week either 08.30-5.00 or 8.00 – 4.30 Monday to Friday.


About the Role

Are you passionate about promoting health and wellbeing in the workplace?


We’re looking for an experienced Occupational Health Advisor to join our dynamic team at UKIM. In this role, you’ll deliver a comprehensive and professional Occupational Health service to our clients, working both autonomously and collaboratively with our wider OH team.


You’ll manage your own caseload and play a key role in supporting the efficient running of our Occupational Health services.

This is a varied position involving onsite and remote assessments, case management, pre-placement assessments, and health promotion activities.


Client Base

• Mix of public and private sector clients

• Predominantly based in and around the Northumberland area.

• Varied and established client relationships, offering exposure to different working environments


What You’ll Do

• Conduct OH assessments, including case management and pre-placement checks.

• Provide expert advice on fitness for work and help prevent work-related illness.

• Consult confidently with HR, managers, and employees on health, safety, and wellbeing.

• Maintain health screening, vaccination, and surveillance programmes.

• Contribute to health promotion campaigns and attend relevant meetings.

• Ensure compliance with NMC standards, legislation, and best practice.

• Keep accurate records in line with organisational and legal requirements.


What We’re Looking For

• Experience: Minimum 2 years post-registration in Occupational Health.

• Qualifications: OH Diploma or Degree preferred.

• Knowledge: Up-to-date understanding of OH legislation and best practice.

• Skills: Strong communication, report writing, and IT proficiency.

• Personal Qualities: Professional, adaptable, self-driven, and able to build strong relationships.
