Overview
Field Hydrometrist - Basingstoke, Warminster, Chippenham, Reading. Hydro International, a CRH Company, is a leading UK provider of data services and equipment for water management and environmental monitoring. The role involves field measurements of water quantity (flow), depth, quality, rainfall, and related telemetry logging equipment installation, operation, and maintenance.
Location: Basingstoke, Warminster, Chippenham, Reading. Job type: Permanent. Hours: 37.5 hours with overtime available. Salary: £24,570 per annum.

Responsibilities
* Visit various sites to perform field measurements of water quantity (flow), depth, quality, and rainfall.
* Install, operate, and maintain telemetry logging equipment.
* Operate in outdoor conditions and in water; comply with safety protocols and use appropriate safety gear.
* Assist with data collection and reporting as required.
Qualifications and Skills
* A passion for outdoors work and working in all weather conditions.
* Comfortable working in water; strong swimming skills.
* Confidence working at heights (ladders) and in confined spaces.
* Good computer literacy (MS Office – Word, Excel).
* Degree or equivalent in a relevant environmental field (e.g., Environmental Science, Geography, Geology, etc.).
* Demonstrates awareness of risks and safety protocols.
* Experience with hands-on tasks and use of power and hand tools.
* Willingness to travel; possession of a valid UK driver’s license for 12 months+
Experience
* Full training provided; prior experience not required if essential skills are met.
* Experience with hydrometric field data collection is beneficial but not essential.
Aptitudes and Attributes
* Self-starter, dependable, flexible/adaptable, proactive.
* Strong communication skills; ability to work to deadlines.
* Willingness to travel and stay away from home as needed.
* Team player, able to work independently.
Training Desirable (Not Essential)
* Working at height, confined space entry, first aid at work, water safety, water hygiene, hydrometric techniques.
* SSSTS (Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme), CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
