Job Description
Xpert Recruitment is working on behalf of a valued client to recruit an experienced QHSE Manager for a manufacturing environment specialising in windows and doors. This is a hands-on role responsible for managing Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental systems, ensuring full compliance with UK legislation and ISO standards, while driving a strong culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesQuality (ISO 9001)
* Manage and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS)
* Ensure products meet specifications, regulatory standards, and customer expectations
* Lead internal audits, supplier audits, and external certification audits
* Investigate non-conformances, defects, and customer complaints
* Implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
* Monitor KPIs and produce quality reports
Health & Safety
* Ensure compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation (including the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974)
* Develop risk assessments, method statements, and safe working procedures
* Lead accident and near-miss investigations
* Conduct site inspections and audits
* Deliver training and toolbox talks
* Promote a positive safety culture across the business
Environmental & Energy (ISO 14001 & ISO 50001)
* Manage environmental systems and compliance
* Monitor energy usage and identify efficiency improvements
* Support carbon reduction and sustainability initiatives
* Oversee waste management and liaise with contractors
Compliance & Audits
* Prepare for and manage external audits and inspections
* Maintain accurate documentation and compliance records
* Ensure adherence to building regulations and industry standards
Leadership
* Support and advise managers and staff on QHSE matters
* Chair Health & Safety meetings
* Report performance to senior management
* Lead and develop team members where required
Requirements
* NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum)
* Proven experience in a QHSE, Health & Safety, or Quality role within manufacturing
* Experience managing H&S and Quality systems
* Experience working under or towards ISO certification (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001 preferred)
* Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation
* Experience conducting audits and implementing corrective actions
* Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
