This Modern Apprenticeship provides a fantastic opportunity for motivated individuals who want to continue their education while gaining hands-on industry experience within a successful food manufacturing environment.\n\nDelivered in partnership with Ayrshire College and Skills Development Scotland (SDS), this structured programme allows apprentices to work towards a recognised qualification in Food & Drink Operations at SCQF Level 6, while developing valuable, real-world skills that support career progression in the food and drink industry â Scotlandâs largest manufacturing sector.\n\nThis role is ideal for school leavers or those looking for a career change, who are enthusiastic about learning new skills and building a long-term career in food production and operations.\n\nMain Responsibilities\n-As a Modern Apprentice, you will be supported to learn and develop skills across multiple areas of the business, which may include:\n\nProduction & Processing\n- Assist with the preparation, handling, and processing of food products.\n- Follow production plans to meet quality and output targets.\n- Carry out tasks in line with food safety, hygiene, and operational standards.\n\nQuality & Compliance\n- Learn and follow strict food safety and hygiene requirements (including HACCP, CCPs & allergen awareness).\n- Support quality checks to ensure products meet company and industry standards.\n- Complete accurate records and documentation as required.\n\nHealth & Safety\n- Adhere to site Health & Safety procedures at all times.\n- Learn correct use of equipment, PPE, and safe working practices.\n\nContinuous Improvement & Teamwork\n- Work collaboratively with colleagues across production, quality, and operations.\n- Contribute ideas to improve processes and efficiency.\n- Take part in learning, training sessions, and development reviews. - Food safety & hygiene\n- Health & safety in the workplace\n- Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)\n- Production operations\n- Quality systems and traceability\n- Continuous improvement Essential\n- A positive attitude and willingness to learn\n- Reliable, punctual, and committed to completing the programme\n- Ability to work well as part of a team\n- Good communication skills\n- Interest in food production, manufacturing, or working in a hands-on environment\n\nDesirable\n- National 4 or 5 qualifications (or equivalent)\n- An interest in science, food, engineering, or business operations\n- Previous part-time or work experience in any environment
