Personal Assistant for young child P/T@ £16.47/hr in Bristol - FTE - £32.1k Apply at UKCIL.com. Reference: 133ba6df Personal Assistant needed to support a 4-year-old girl with Down Syndrome. Duties We are seeking a caring and reliable Personal Assistant to support our 4-year-old daughter during after school hours, as well as some ad hoc weekend and holiday work (by mutual agreement) This role involves collecting our daughter from school Tues- Friday and then assisting her with any after school activities, preparing a light snack, and a providing her with company. For weekend work or holiday work, the role would include taking her to activities and days out and supporting her social interactions. Some personal care elements may be involved (such as assisting with toileting) We are looking for someone who is kind, patient and reliable and ideally who has an interest in working with children with additional needs. Our daughter is a wonderful, happy girl who loves music, singing and dancing, role play with her toys and well as going to the playground. She currently communicates via a combination of Makaton and single words, as well as pictures and can always get her point across! She has no complex medical needs but does need supervision at all times to ensure she is accessing her environment safely. Skills and experience Ideally you will have experience or an interest in working with children with disabilities, specifically those who have speech and language delays. A knowledge of Makaton would be advantageous, or the willingness to take a course (funded by employer). A driver with their own car is essential for this role. A good sense of humour and sense of fun is key- she is after all a 4-year-old girl who loves to play! Hours per week Tues- Fri: 3pm- 5.30pm (10hrs total)- term time Saturdays/Sundays/ School holidays (ad hoc as required): Up to 8 hours per day Pay £12.73/hr (employed) £16.47 (self-employed) plus mileage The role will be subject to a successful DBS check and references We are open to hearing from candidates that can do 2 or more days a week.
