Overview
We are inviting applications for a band seven senior sister/charge nurse to join our dynamic team.
The ideal candidate is a motivated, committed, flexible, approachable Emergency nurse with strong management and leadership skills and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
* Deliver patient care on a daily basis, managing all aspects of nursing care from admission to discharge.
* Lead a busy Emergency department, providing expert clinical care, clinical governance and risk management.
* Ensure all care is delivered according to Trust policies and procedures, maintaining associated records.
* Manage, support and lead a team of nurses, overseeing staff appraisal, rota, recruitment, selection and supervision of learners.
* Provide specialist advice to patients, relatives and the multi‑disciplinary team.
* Utilise clinical audit, research, supervision of practice and teaching to monitor and improve standards of care and use resources efficiently.
* Lead the Emergency Floor through the achieving excellence programme and serve as a pivotal role model within the specialty, upholding the Trust’s values and behaviours at all times.
Qualifications
Essential
* Emergency care pathway experience.
* Degree or working toward a degree.
* Basic Life Support (ALS).
Desirable
* Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS).
* Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).
* V300 independent nurse prescribing.
Working Pattern
The successful applicant must be able to work an internal rotation shift pattern of days and nights.
