Senior SHE Advisor – BP Net Zero Project, Teesside
The Group Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) Department is responsible for ensuring that Costain operates in a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible manner through the implementation of the Group SHE Management System and Group SHE Plan. It provides a framework and standards for managing safety, health and environmental risks and opportunities, aiming to prevent injury, ill health, and to protect and enhance the natural environment in balance with socio‑economic requirements throughout all our activities and operations. This role supports the Contract SHE functions and enables the Contract / Operational Teams to implement the Group SHE Management System. Full‑time presence on site in Teesside is required.
Responsibilities
* Support and influence Contract Leadership Team, Clients, and other stakeholders in compliance with the Group SHE Management System and Contract SHE performance.
* Deliver training to enable the contract team to implement the Group SHE Management System.
* Coach and support Contract Operational and Supply Chain contractors in delivering the Contract SHE requirements.
* Be actively involved in the ongoing assessment of Contracts Supply Chain contractors.
* Support the delivery of the annual Contract and Group SHE objectives.
* Engage with the Contract SHE Assurance programme to ensure compliance with company and statutory requirements.
* Support the investigation of all unplanned events and the close‑out of assurance findings, ensuring lessons are shared in accordance with the Group SHE Management System.
* Support the timely reporting, analysis, and use of SHE data to influence the Contract Leadership Team and support the development and implementation of data‑based improvement plans.
Essential Qualifications
* Demonstrated SHE experience.
* Experience in a SHE role on an Energy project.
* Tech. IOSH or AIEMA or equivalent.
* NEBOSH Construction Certificate or NEBOSH Oil and Gas or IEMA Associate Qualification (Course) or equivalent.
Desirable Qualifications
* Cert. IOSH or AIEMA or equivalent.
* NEBOSH Occupational Safety Diploma or Environmental Diploma or equivalent.
