Behaviour Support Assistant – South Tyneside Location: South Tyneside Contract: Full-time, Long-term Start date: Immediate Pay: £89–£120 per day (PAYE, no umbrella fees) Do you have a calm head and a big heart? We’re looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant to join a specialist setting that supports pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs. Your role will include: Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies Helping pupils stay engaged in learning through creative, hands-on activities Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and de-escalation when needed Encouraging self-confidence, resilience, and trust through consistency and care You’ll need: Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behaviour, or trauma backgrounds A calm, patient approach and strong communication skills The ability to build relationships based on empathy and respect If you’ve worked in youth work, residential care, or alternative education - you’ll fit right in.
