About Us
The Northern Lighthouse Board is the General Lighthouse Authority for Scotland and the Isle of Man, responsible for the superintendence and management of all lighthouses, buoys and beacons within those waters. We have provided this vital safety service to mariners since 1786.
The Role – Overview
Based at the NLB’s Headquarters in central Edinburgh (with the option of Hybrid Working), as Applications Developer you will be responsible for supporting the Systems Analyst in rolling out new systems and projects. You will manage major internal and collaborative ICT projects using approved structured project management methods to deliver measurable business benefits.
Key projects include; development of the Power Platform within the NLB (PowerApps, Power Automate and Power BI). Other project areas will include support for our document retention process and finance replacement project. You will work with stakeholders at all levels across the business translating their requests in to a functional and user-friendly application.
As part of the ICT team there will also be a requirement to provide support as part of ICT help desk response.
Salary and Benefits
£43,306 per year rising to £47,643 after the first year in post.
A Civil Service Pension with an average employer contribution of 28%

Qualifications/ Experience Required
You will hold an HND\Degree (or equivalent experience) in an Information and Communications Technology (ICT) discipline.
Experience of application development including PowerApps, Power Automate and optionally Power BI.
Experience in other Microsoft services such as Sharepoint, Office365 and Azure.
Being aware of the need for Cyber security is a crucial part of this role.
Knowledge of SQL management.
