Reporting into the Fabrication, Container & Events Manager you will play a key role in driving our mission forward by repairing waste containers to CHEM standards and fabricating parts that make a real impact. You'll lead special projects using your expert welding and fabrication skills, while strictly adhering to health and safety standards. At the same time, you'll boost efficiency by cutting lead times and costs, ensuring smooth workshop operations, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace. Please note as part of this role it is essential that you are able to commute to site with ease and access to your own vehicle is essential. What will you do Repair and refurbish waste containers, including mobile and static compaction units, to the highest quality standards, ensuring all work is fully documented. Conduct diagnostics to identify faults, perform necessary repairs, and carry out final testing before returning equipment to service. Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols, including Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Risk Assessments, to ensure a safe working environment. Maintain professional communication with internal teams and external customers, while following all site rules and regulations. Provide timely and accurate reports to the Welding and Fabrication Workshop Manager as required. Comply fully with all company policies and procedures, including health, safety, and employment regulations. Undertake additional duties or special projects as assigned by management, within the scope of your skills and experience. Skilled in fault diagnosis, repairs, and final testing of equipment in line with company procedures. Ability to work independently using own initiative while communicating effectively at all levels internally and externally. Maintains composure and exercises sound judgment in complex or challenging situations. Positive, proactive attitude with strong teamwork skills. Flexible regarding working hours and willing to travel to customer sites as needed. Valid UK driving licence; telescopic forklift licence is an advantage but not essential. About Grundon?
