We are a specialist contractor in the passive fire protection industry, delivering compliant, high-quality fire-stopping and fireproofing solutions across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced and organised Project Manager to take the lead in estimating, labour/resource planning, and procurement activities from our office-based operations hub.
̲𝐑̲𝐨̲𝐥̲𝐞̲ ̲𝐒̲𝐮̲𝐦̲𝐦̲𝐚̲𝐫̲𝐲̲
The role will support the successful delivery of multiple passive fire protection projects by managing early-stage project estimating, coordinating labour and resource schedules, and ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and subcontractors. This is a hands-on, office-based role requiring close coordination with site teams, suppliers, and clients.
𝐊̲𝐞̲𝐲̲ ̲𝐑̲𝐞̲𝐬̲𝐩̲𝐨̲𝐧̲𝐬̲𝐢̲𝐛̲𝐢̲𝐥̲𝐢̲𝐭̲𝐢̲𝐞̲𝐬̲
𝐄𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠
•Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for fire-stopping and passive fire protection works.
•Analyse project drawings, specifications, and scope documents to produce cost breakdowns.
•Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams to gather and clarify pricing requirements.
•Assist in compiling tender submissions and variations.
•Maintain an updated cost database for materials, labour, and subcontract services.
𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 & 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠
•Develop and maintain project labour schedules in coordination with site managers.
•Forecast labour requirements based on project timelines and workload.
•Support the recruitment and allocation of internal operatives and subcontract labour.
•Monitor labour utilisation and ensure resource availability aligns with project needs.
𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭
•Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best value and quality.
•Place purchase orders for materials, plant, and subcontractor services in line with project programmes.
•Track deliveries, lead times, and manage supplier performance.
•Ensure materials meet compliance standards and technical specifications.
𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 & 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝
•Proven experience in a project management, estimating, procurement, or construction coordination role.
•Strong knowledge of passive fire protection systems and industry standards (e.g., fire stopping, fire barriers, intumescent coatings).
•Experience in labour/resource scheduling across multiple projects.
•Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
•Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
•Excellent organisational, communication, and time management skills.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel essential); knowledge of estimating or project planning software is a plus.
𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬
•Relevant qualification in Construction, Quantity Surveying, or Project Management (desirable).
•CSCS, SMSTS, or other relevant construction certifications (advantageous but not essential).
