Role Summary:
We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer with a strong background in AWS to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless day-to-day operation of our platform, maintaining maximum uptime, and spearheading improvements through advanced AWS services. As a DevOps Engineer at Ask UMA, you will be at the forefront of our platform's performance, playing a critical role in its development and operational success.
Key Responsibilities:
· Oversee the day-to-day management of Ask UMA platform to ensure optimal performance and maximum uptime.
· Serve as the first point of contact for platform outages, swiftly diagnosing and resolving issues to minimise downtime.
· Implement and manage AWS services, including ECS Fargate, Code Pipelines, RDS (Aurora), S3, Route53, and CloudWatch, to enhance platform efficiency and scalability.
· Collaborate closely with the Head of Infrastructure, Lead Developer, and development teams (front-end, back-end, and full-stack) to align DevOps practices with overall project objectives.
· Leverage Git and GitHub for version control and collaboration, ensuring code integrity and facilitating seamless team workflows.
· Drive continuous improvement of the platform through strategic use of AWS services, staying abreast of the latest advancements and integrating them where beneficial.
· Ensure compliance with security best practices and contribute to the development of disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
Desired Qualifications:
· Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, particularly within AWS environments.
· AWS Certifications highly preferred (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
· Strong understanding and hands-on experience with AWS services, including but not limited to ECS Fargate, CodePipelines, RDS (Aurora), S3, Route53, and CloudWatch.
· Proficiency in Git and GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
· Strong communication skills, with the ability to work closely with multiple stakeholders across various departments.
