About the role:
The Overarching aim of the Children Wales Act is to help protect children’s rights by prohibiting the physical punishment of children by parents and those acting in loco parentis within Wales.
* The role of the Parenting worker will be to help develop and deliver tailored plans of support to individuals referred by the police for support through the diversionary scheme.
* Undertaking planned activities that contribute to better outcomes for families.
* To develop positive and engaging relationships with parents, adopting a trauma informed approach to supporting them.
* Signposting families and children to partner organisations in order to make use of support services and to attend local provision.
* Identifying and promoting positive aspects of parents’ relationships and interaction with their children, including maintaining accurate records of parents’ progress as an integral part of delivering parenting support.
* To Liaise with other professional from statutory and voluntary sector to achieve the best possible outcomes for children and families.
