Role and Responsibilities
* Day-to-day leadership of the Operations Team
* Supporting the safe, legal, and compliant running of the facility
* Championing continuous improvement across operational performance
* Assisting with operational planning, coordination and front-line supervision
* Upholding health, safety, environmental and quality standards at all times
* Overseeing adherence to FCC Energy Division Safety Rules
* Leading incident investigations and helping implement preventative measures
* Collaborating with maintenance teams to optimise plant availability
* Managing contractors and specialist external support as required
* Contributing to operational budgeting and longer-term strategic planning
* Stepping up to cover the Operations Manager role when needed
Skills and Qualifications
* A Level 3 Engineering qualification or above (ONC, NVQ, C&G or equivalent)
* A background in power generation, energy from waste or heavy industrial environments
* Proven experience in a supervisory or management capacity
* Solid knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation and best practice
* The ability to lead, inspire and develop a teamStrong planning and problem-solving capabilities
* Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office
* NEBOSH or IOSH qualification (desirable)
* Experience as a Senior Authorised Person or Permit Issuer (desirable)
* Familiarity with thermal plant operations, permit systems and safety protocols (desirable)
