1:1 Teaching Assistant – Year 5 (SEMH Support) Location: BD7, Bradford Start Date: ASAP Contract: Full-time, Long-term Pay: £88–£110 per day (PAYE) Do you have a calm, confident approach and a knack for bringing out the best in children who need a little extra support? We’re looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 5 pupil who has social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs and can display challenging behaviour. This is a full-time role in a warm and welcoming primary school in BD7, where your support will make a real difference to one child’s school journey. What you’ll be doing: Providing consistent, nurturing support throughout the school day Using de-escalation strategies to help the pupil regulate emotions and stay engaged Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt learning to meet individual needs Encouraging positive relationships, emotional resilience, and confidence in learning Supporting behaviour plans and contributing to a safe, structured environment About you: Experience supporting children with SEMH, trauma, or challenging behaviour (school or alternative setting) Patience, empathy, and a positive mindset Thrive-trained or willing to complete Protocol Education’s free Thrive training (which schools love!)
