Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our Fire Team. This consultancy role requires proven experience across various sectors and technical fire engineering applications in a client-focused environment. You will work closely with office leads to oversee and develop a local team, providing guidance and mentorship with support from senior staff. This position is ideal for an established consultant seeking to advance their career or someone eager to expand their knowledge and design skills within a reputable fire safety consultancy.
What you’ll do
* Deliver from inception through to completion with minimal senior oversight, including CFD modelling, evacuation modelling and other analytical fire engineering tasks.
* Manage design projects, and review the work of others.
* Demonstrable experience across a range of sectors and technical fire engineering applications, with a particular focus on UK regulations and markets.
* Develop approaches to solve new problems using modifications of standard procedures or methods from previous assignments.
* Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables.
* Lead the development of accurate cost estimates for technical efforts on projects.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
* Relevant degree or professional qualification.
* Work experience within a similar consultancy or other relevant business.
* Demonstrable experience across a range of sectors and technical fire engineering applications with a focus on UK regulations and markets.
* Experience managing the fire engineering aspects of small to medium-sized design projects within agreed timescales and budgets.
* Experience providing guidance to entry-level fire engineers.
* Experience preparing fee proposals and task variations for fire engineering activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
* BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng in Fire Engineering or similar.
* Professional membership with the Institution of Fire Engineers or Engineering Council, progressing toward Chartership.
* Experience leading and supervising a team of junior engineers with regard to people and projects.
* A documented work history and evidence of professional development.
