Service Manager – Irlam
Seeking an experienced and proactive Service Manager to lead and develop an in‑house and field‑based Service Department within a growing SME environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on individual with strong technical, organisational and leadership skills to play a key role in driving service excellence and supporting the continued growth of our Installation and Service operations.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing the activities of a small service team, including:
* Maintaining and improving Service Department standards, protocols, work instructions and risk assessments
* Further developing our newly introduced Installation service, including carrying out installation surveys and installations until fully established
* Handling customer and distributor service-related queries and issues
* Liaising with customers and attending meetings both on‑site and in‑house as required
* Developing Service staff through training, mentoring and performance management
* Conducting staff performance reviews and managing disciplinary matters where required
* Managing departmental Health & Safety, including PPE, COSHH, staff wellbeing and Risk Assessments
* Field Service Engineers
* Service operatives
* Stock control
The Ideal Candidate:
* Proven experience managing and developing an in‑house and on‑site Service Department within an SME environment
* Hands‑on experience servicing, maintaining and installing electromechanical products
* 18th Edition Electrical Certification
* Strong understanding of workplace Health & Safety procedures
* IOSH or NEBOSH qualification would be advantageous
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a small technical team
* Full UK Driving Licence (any points must be declared at the application stage)

Salary £45,500
