The Role
The Accounts Assistant will support the agency’s day-to-day finance operations and play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the month-end process, and ensuring financial controls are upheld across projects and departments.
You’ll be working closely with the Finance Manager, senior stakeholders across the agency, and the wider delivery teams — so strong communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work at pace are a must.
Key Responsibilities
* Process supplier invoices and match to the PO system
* Prepare and manage weekly/monthly payment runs
* Raise sales invoices and ensure timely billing
* Credit control and supplier statement reconciliations
* Assist with month-end duties: journals, reconciliations, and trial balance support
* Provide detailed expenditure analysis
* Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, including accruals and prepayments
* Perform multi-currency bank reconciliations
* Run Forex adjustments across AP, AR and GL accounts
* Post inter-company recharges across group entities
* Process and reconcile staff expenses
* Maintain the fixed asset register and post depreciation journals
* Assist with year-end close and audit preparation
* Support project maintenance and budgeting across client accounts
* Carry out other ad hoc finance and admin tasks as required
Skills & Experience Required
* Sage experience is essential
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
* Experience using Procim highly desirable (training can be provided)
* Familiarity with any project management/budgeting tools or PO systems is an advantage
* Exceptional attention to detail with a knack for spotting errors
* Proactive approach with a willingness to challenge and improve processes
* Articulate and confident communicator — comfortable working with senior stakeholders
* Able to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
* Motivated, positive and adaptable — enjoys working in a fast-moving environment
* Keen to continue (or begin) professional finance qualifications (AAT/ACCA/CIMA)
